About me

Mario Canedo, born on March 14, 1990 in Vienna, is an Austrian actor, author, and voice actor. He has appeared in both German and Austrian television series as well as numerous films. Between 2004 and 2009, Mario Canedo attended the Hotel Management School in Vienna. He completed his acting training privately under Karlheinz Hackl and Erni Mangold, he graduated from the Vienna Konservatorium in 2013. In 2015, Mario Canedo was nominated as a Shooting Star by the Austrian magazine TV-Media. He also served on the Austrian jury for the 89th, 94th, and 95th Academy Awards in the category of Best International Feature Film from 2016 to 2023. Last he shot with Marleen Valien for her Feature Film A LITTLE BIT OF DYING. In 2025, he was selected for the mentoring program of the Austrian Film Academy. In 2026 he became a founding member of the solidarity-based association dieSchauspieler*innen.
Together with Ulrike Schweiger, he wrote the screenplay for PERLFISCH, a feature film in which he will also play the lead role. He is currently working with Santiago López Jover - an animation artist who has been nominated for the Academy Awards multiple times - on the family animation film DACHHASE (Rabbit, They Said). Mario Canedo is represented by the agency UNDR.WIEN. Mario also has a special passion: he loves alpaca trekking.
