Birgitta grew up in the southernmost part of Germany, just 500 meters from the Austrian border, near Vorarlberg. At the age of 12, she wrote a letter to Bavaria Studios in Munich with her wish to become an actress. The reply came promptly, telling her to wait until she was 16 and then she could apply to drama schools.
That was exactly the plan: at the age of 16, Birgitta packed her suitcase and set off. She finally began her acting training at the Theater der Keller in Cologne, having previously worked in various jobs in Munich, including as a dental assistant, lighting technician in a children's theater, artist supervisor and ticket saleswoman at Munich's Theater Fraunhofer - Die Kulisse.
After training as an actress, she worked at the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf, Stadttheater Ingolstadt, Neue Schaubühne München and various television roles in different genres. In 1999, she appeared in the ARD series "Lindenstraße" as "Ines".
After almost twelve years in the series, Birgitta felt it was important to pass on her experiences to young people, especially those who live far away from media centers. She initiated the project "From Idea to Premiere", which resulted in over 100 short films, funded by "Movies in Motion: Kultur macht stark". Birgitta has also developed into a theater and portrait photographer
With valuable experience behind the camera, it is now important for Birgitta to work as an actress again. She is excited about the future and is looking forward to new challenges.
