Balázs Csémy ("Blas") is a professional actor, born in the former Czechoslovakia; he resides today in Budapest and Berlin. Balázs/Blas has performed in more than five languages in both Hungarian and several international TV productions.
After his bachelor's degree in theater he quickly reached success as a performing stage actor, winning accolades and awards as best newcomer in the Hungarian theater world. The wide spectrum of his theatrical work spanned from Shakespeare to contemporary musicals and opera. After having finished his second degree at RADA in London, Blas made a seamless transition from stage to the world of television. Apart from playing the lead in a weekly TV comedy in Budapest for four successful seasons, he also appeared in big-budget productions, such as The Last Kingdom, Halo, Hunters, TC's Jack Ryan, among others. He took part in the Netflix feature Swimmers that opened at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2022, and in the movie Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, that was nominated for an Academy Award.
An expert in languages and dialects, an avid singer and a great fan of sport and athleticism Blas is a multifaceted actor who still keeps working on the international TV scene and is always on the lookout for challenging work.
He recently wrapped filming as the co-lead in the international TV-Series "Hunyadi: Rise of the Raven", that shall be streamed worldwide in 2024, directed by Academy Award nominee Robert Dornhelm, produced by Robert Lantos.
In 2025 he worked on Ruben Östlund's film: "The Entertainment System is Down."
He studied acting under the likes of Andrew Visnevski and Sue Dunderdale (RADA), László Marton (SZFE Budapest), Adam Davenport (TIAS), Cathy Haase, Bogumil Godfrejow and Christian Wagner (ISAW) and Gyula Gazdag (The Sundance Institute).
